Djibouti, Sudan and Yemeni leaders meet The presidents of Djibouti, Sudan and Yemen are meeting in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, to discuss the latest effort to bring peace to Somalia. President Guelleh of Djibouti, who launched his peace plan at the United Nations in September, has already been to Kenya and Ethiopia, and goes on to Egypt for talks with President Mubarak and the Arab League. He told the BBC he would host a meeting of the regional grouping IGAD Inter Government Conference on Development and its foreign partners on Wednesday to discuss the next stage for his plan, which has already been endorsed by the United Nations Security Council. Correspondents say President Guelleh may be trying to see how much foreign funding he can raise for it. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
