Indian FM in London talks The Indian foreign minister, Jaswant Singh, had talks in London with the British foreign secretary, Robin Cook. Mr Cook said afterwards that he had assured Mr Singh that no British arms were being sold to Pakistan, and that Britain condemned all acts of terrorism. The Indian foreign minister's visit comes amid concern about security in south Asia, following last year's clashes over Kashmir and the hijack of an Indian Airlines plane last month. India has accused Islamabad of complicity in the hijack, a charge rejected by Pakistan. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
