The Ukrainian authorities have allowed the Chechen news agency to reopen in the town of Odessa.

The agency operated out of Odessa during the previous Chechen war between 1994-96.

A number of hardline Ukrainian nationalists have volunteered to fight on the Chechen side against the Russians, and there are large numbers of Tatars and Muslims living in southern Ukraine.
