New Caspian pipeline under discussion

The Turkish President, Suleyman Demirel, begins a two-day visit today Friday to Georgia where he'll discuss arrangements for a key oil pipeline from Azerbaijan to Turkey.

The multi-billion dollar project, which would bring oil from the Caspian sea to lucrative European markets, would bypass Russia, which has cast doubts over whether the plan will proceed.

Georgia is reportedly hesitant to move forward with the deal because of Russian pressure.
