Libyan plane crash: search continues Rescue teams in Libya are still searching for survivors after a plane with more than forty people on board crashed into the sea yesterday. Libyan officials say at least seventeen people were killed; others are still missing. The plane was carrying foreign oil workers when it crashed into the Mediterranean as it approached an oil refinery at Marsa Al-Burayqah -- six hundred kilometres east of the capital Tripoli. The Swiss owners of the aircraft Avisto said both engines had failed. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
