Court challenge over Tyson entry

Campaigners against rape are mounting a legal challenge to the decision of the British Home Secretary, Jack Straw, to let the boxer Mike Tyson into Britain.

Tyson is already in London training for a fight, but the campaigners want the High Court to order a judicial review of Mr Straw's decision.

As a convicted rapist, Tyson would ordinarily have been barred from Britain; the campaigners say exempting him from the immigration rules sets the wrong example. Tyson is due to fight Julius Francis of Britain in Manchester later this month.
