Brazilian crash kills at least 39 Police in Brazil say at least thirty-nine people have been killed and twenty others injured when two buses collided in the southern state of Santa Catarina. One of the buses burst into flames after falling into a ravine. Several other vehicles were also involved in the accident, which police say may have been caused by heavy fog. Almost all the victims were Argentine tourists. Police say the number of people killed may be as high as fifty. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
