Cyprus to see first exchange of files on missing people
Representatives of the Greek and Turkish communities in Cyprus have exchanged information on the graves of hundreds of people listed as missing since the Turkish invasion in 1974. It is the first such exchange, and is seen as a major breakthrough by the United Nations, which is leading international efforts to re-unite the island. The aim is to locate the graves and then arrange for international experts to try to identify the remains. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
