North - South partnership in battle against Malaria

Research scientists in the Netherlands say that a new partnership between African experts and their colleagues in leading industrialised countries could herald a new era in the battle against malaria - which now kills more than a million people a year.

And, recognising the huge socio-economic cost of malaria, the World Bank and the World Health Organisation have started to generate more investment to tackle the problem.
