Danish MP's discuss tightening of asylum laws
Members of the Danish parliament are to discuss ideas later today for changing the country's laws on asylum seekers and the integration of refugees. The measures, proposed by the governing Social Democrats, would force immigrants to attend classes in Danish and Danish social conditions and would cut welfare payments if they failed to attend. There would also be restrictions on family members travelling to Denmark. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
