More foreigners kidnapped in Yemen

Reports from Yemen say armed tribesmen have kidnapped two foreigners in two separate incidents.

Security officials said a Chinese engineer was abducted on Tuesday in the south of the country and taken to an unspecified destination.

Later a German engineer who works for the Yemeni health ministry was seized in the capital Sanaa and taken to Khawlan area, fifty kilometres east of Sanaa.

Negotiations are being held to try to secure their release.

Earlier this month, three South Koreans and a German were kidnapped by Yemeni tribesmen and later released unharmed.
