Swiss assists Spain in cases of dissapearance in Argentina
Police in Switzerland say they've handed bank documents over to Spain to assist investigations into the disappearance of hundreds of Spaniards in Argentina during the so-called dirty war. The documents, which concern the affairs of two of the Argentines connected with the case, were seized from six Swiss banks and given to Spanish judicial authorities. Swiss police say information on four other people may be released later but gave no details. A Spanish court is investigating the disappearance of Spanish citizens during the seven years of military rule in Argentina in the 1970s and eighties. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
