Indians in Chiapas complain about aid
Representatives of the indigenous communities in the southern Mexican state of Chiapas have rejected humanitarian aid distributed by the Mexican Red Cross because they say the goods are too old for use. In a letter sent to the International Committee of the Red Cross in Geneva, they say they've received medicines and food which should have been used by last month. The ICRC in Geneva say they are having talks with the Mexican government and the Mexican Red Cross about this issue. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
