Mexican ruling party on image improvement tour in Europe

Officials from Mexico's governing party the PRIare in Brussels to meet EUofficials in an attempt to address criticism following the massacre of forty-five indigenous peasants last month.

The EU and Mexico signed a trade agreement in December, and there have been moves in the European parliament to delay its ratification because of the massacre.

The killings in the southern Mexican state of Chiapas have been linked to paramilitary gunmen with links to the PRI.

The delegation's visit to Europe includes meetings in France and Spain.
