Iranian president in talks with visiting Iraqi foreign minister

Tehran, 21st January: President Mohammad Khatami here on Wednesday [21st January] received the visiting Iraqi foreign minister, Muhammad Sa'id al-Sahhaf.

President Khatami expressed hope that bilateral problems left from the war would be resolved, thanks to the goodwill on the part of both sides.

Sahhaf briefed the Iranian president on the current situation in Iraq and progress made in negotiations between the United Nations and Iraq.
