Cambodia ceasefire talks possible

A prominent Cambodian opposition figure, Sam Rainsy, says the deposed co-premier, Prince Norodom Ranariddh, is willing to start negotiations on a ceasefire in the civil war.

The Prime Minister, Hun Sen, made his latest offer of a ceasefire a few days ago.

The BBC correspondent in Cambodia says Prince Ranariddh has suggested the talks take place in Thailand.

She says Hun Sen has accepted an invitation from the Thai government to visit Thailand, and that talks between the Prime Minister and Prince Ranariddh could be held at the same time.
