Talks between South Korea and international bankers adjourned
Talks between a South Korean government delegation and international bankers in New York on restructuring Korean debts have been adjourned. No details were given of the discussions and no agreement was announced. The talks are due to resume on Friday. Correspondents say the talks are centred on exchanging short-term debt payments for longer-term loans but that the South Koreans are reluctant to guarantee the private sector debt.
