Aid workers worried about Sierra Leone refugees
Aid workers in Sierra Leone have expressed concern about the fate of thousands of civilians displaced by clashes in the east between troops loyal to the military government and Kamajor militiamen fighting to restore the elected government. Medecins Sans Frontieres says that very few of the people known to have been displaced are turning up in the towns of Bo and Pujehun where MSF and other charities run clinics. MSF said they are likely to need food and medical attention. Some sources in the affected areas say the internal refugees are too scared of the government troops stationed in the towns to venture in.
