One killed by Algierian bus bomb
A bomb has exploded on a bus in a crowded area of the Algerian capital, Algiers.

At least one person is reported dead, and another ten seriously injured.

Eyewitnesses said the bus was torn apart in the explosion, and left clothing and other belongings strewn in pools of blood.

Algerian newspapers reported than a number of similar bomb attempts had earlier been foiled by police.

The reports blamed Islamic militants, and said they were aimed at embarrassing the government as it hosted a senior delegation of European Union officials.
