Cambodian capital to get facelift
The authorities in the Cambodian capital, Phnom Penh, have launched a five-million dollar project to repair the city. They hope that improved streetlighting and road signals will reduce crime and accidents and attract tourists and investors. The temple which gives it's name to the city, Wat Phnom, is also being tidied-up. Officials say the improvements should be complete by April. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
