India releases Thai fishermen

The authorities in the Indian state of West Bengal have released the last of one-hundred-and-twenty-seven Thai fishermen arrested six months ago on charges of piracy.

An Indian court ordered the release of the fishermen last month after finding them not guilty of piracy in Indian waters The Chief Executive of the West Bengal Human Rights Commission, Kamlaker Mishra, said their release had been delayed because the Thai embassy had logistical problems in taking so many people into their care.
