4 ETA members jailed for more than 700 years

A court in Madrid has sentenced four members of the outlawed Basque separatist organisation, ETA, to spend the rest of their lives in prison for their part in a car bomb attack which killed three people.

Two of the accused were jailed for more than two-hundred years each, while the other two were each given more than one-hundred-and-sixty years.

The vehicle used for the attack in the Basque city of San Sebastian in 1992 was packed with twenty-five kilos of explosives, and blew up exactly as a police car was driving by.
