President Boris Yeltsin is spending the last day of his holiday reviewing documents at his suburban residence Gorki-9 outside Moscow.
After an extended holiday designed to ensure his complete recovery from a viral chest infection, the President is preparing to return to work at the Kremlin on Monday.
According to spokesman Sergei Yastrzhembsky, the president will meet Prime Minister Viktor Chernomyrdin and his first deputies Boris Nemtsov Anatoly Chubais on his first official working day in 1998.
Later in the day, he is expected to meet Defence Minister Igor Sergeyev and Interior Minister Anatoly Kulikov.
On Tuesday, he will meet Deputy Prime Minister Valery Serov and preside over a session of the Defence Council.
On Thursday, he will attend a session of the Supreme Council of the Russian-Byelorussian Union and a session of the Council of Heads of States of Russia, Byelorussia, Kazakhstan and Kirghizia to discuss
the work of the two bodies in 1997.
Mr Yeltsin is expected to meet members of the Russian delegation to the Nagano Olympics on Friday.
