Bangladesh MP censured

The main opposition party in Bangladesh, the BNP, says it will take actionagainst one of its MPs who advocated ending the party's boycott of parliament.

In an interview with BBC, the party's Secretary General, Abdul Mannan Bhuyian, said the MP, Major Akhteruzzaman, had violated party discipline.

But he also conceded there may be others in the party who agreed with the MP.

The BNP isboycotting parliament in protest over what it says is government persecution of its activists.
