Scotland Yard smashed Turkish drug ring

Police in London say they believe they've smashed a big drugs trafficking network operating between Turkey and Britain, following a series of raids in the British capital.

Police seized heroin worth more than three-million dollars two-million pounds on Saturday and arrested a Turkish national.

Three days ago, they seized a similar amount of heroin and cocaine, as well as firearms and cash and arrested fourteen people.

Police believe that the northern part of London, which has a large Turkish community, serves as a major distribution centre for hard drugs originating in Turkey.
