Policeman among two Britons held in France on drugs charges
Two British nationals, one a policeman, were placed under investigation in Boulogne-sur-Mer on Saturday night after the seizure on Wednesday of 200 kg of cannabis resin aboard a yacht anchored in the port of Calais, AFP news agency reported, quoting a judicial source. The two suspects were arrested in France during a joint operation by British customs officers and the French police, in which eight further arrests were carried out in the Birmingham region of England. The cannabis resin, with a market value of a million pounds, was hidden aboard the yacht "Rosie", anchored in a Calais marina, a British customs official said.
