Cambodian fighting intensifies along Thai border

Defence officials in Thailand say fighting between the Cambodian army and opposition forces has intensified along the Thai border in north-western Cambodia.

They said three Thai soldiers were wounded in shelling near O'Smach -- a stronghold of forces loyal to the deposed Cambodian co-premier, Prince Norodom Ranariddh.

Each side has blamed the other for starting the fighting.Clashes broke out in July shortly after the Cambodian prime minister, Hun Sen, ousted Prince Ranariddh from power.
