UN considers moving Tutsi refugees from camp in western Rwanda

Reports from Rwanda say the United Nations is preparing to move fifteen thousand Tutsi refugees from the former Zaire out of their camp in western Rwanda to a more secure site.

The French news agency quotes the UN refugee agency as saying the Rwandan government had called for the refugees to be re-located from the Kibuye camp following a massacre last month at another camp in the area.

Those killings were blamed on extremist Hutu militia, who have been mounting increasing attacks in western Rwanda.
