Bosnian Serbs make new attempt to form government

The Bosnian Serb parliament is making another attempt to agree on a new government -- with the international community warning that if it fails a solution could be imposed.

The Bosnian Serb President, Biljana Plavsic, has put forward a new candidate Milorad Dodig for prime minister after her earlier nominee Mladen Ivanic failed to secure sufficient support.

But a BBC correspondent in Bosnia says it is unlikely her latest choice will be any more acceptable.

Last November's elections left the parliament split between supporters of Mrs Plavsic, who has the support of the West, and more hardline nationalists loyal to her predecessor, Radovan Karadzic, who is wanted on war crimes charges.

The international mediator, Carlos Westendorp, has warned the Bosnian Serbs that this is their last chance and delaying tactics will no longer be tolerated.
