Ice man arrives in Italy amid tight security
The remains of a Neolithic man thought to be more than five-thousand years old have arrived at a museum in northern Italy after a journey from Austria in a refrigerated truck. The body was moved amid tight security following a threat of unspecified terrorist action by an underground Austrian nationalist group. The discovery of the body seven years ago, in a glacier a few metres inside the Italian border, sparked a dispute between Austria and Italy. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
