EU calls on Mexico to punish Chiapas killers
The European Parliament has called on the Mexican President, Ernesto Zedillo, to punish those responsible for the massacre of forty-five Indian peasants in the southern state of Chiapas last month. But the legislators did not aprove a proposal drafted by left-wing euro-deputies to suspend the process of ratification of the trade agreement between the EU and Mexico signed in December.
