Chancellor Gordon Brown will deliver his second Budget statement to the Commons on Tuesday, March 17, the Government has announced.
The Leader of the House, Ann Taylor named the day during exchanges on coming parliamentary business.
It marks a return to spring budgets from the autumn combined tax and spending package introduced under the Conservative government.
Mr Brown's first statement in July foreshadowed the move back to spring budgets.
He also issued a Budget preview statement in November.
The November statement looked forward to new anti-tax avoidance measures.
Treasury ministers also referred to tax avoidance issues at question time after today's announcement about the Budget.
