US envoy in security talks in Serbia

The United States envoy for the Balkans, Robert Gelbard, is due in Belgrade today Thursday for talks with the Yugoslav president, Slobodan Milosevic on regional security.

These include the situation in the Serb-controlled province of Kosovo as well as the tense political stand-off in Montenegro.

Mr Gelbard is later expected to travel to Eastern Slavonia for a ceremony marking the region's return to Croatian rule.
