Eleven die in a fire in Taiwan

Police in Taiwan say at least eleven people have been killed and several injured in a fire at a nursing home for the aged near the capital, Taipei.

Officials said many of the victims died because they were too old to run away from the fire which started on the ground floor of the building.

They said the fire also damaged a nearby factory.
