Clinton bars Sierra Leone junta from the US

President Clinton has barred members of the military government in Sierra Leone, as well as their families, from entering the United States.

Mr Clinton said he'd made the decision because Sierra Leone's army refused to hand over power to elected civilians.

The military ousted President Ahmad Tejan Kabbah last May, over a year after his election.

The United Nations is seeking to implement a deal, under which Mr Kabbah would be restored to power in April.
