Canadian trade delegation in Brazil
A big delegation of Canadian business leaders and politicians has arrived in Brazil on the latest leg of their four-nation tour of Latin America. The mission is being led by the Canadian Governor-General, Romeo LeBlanc, in the absence of the Prime Minister, Jean Chretien, who has remained in Canada to deal with the severe weather crisis there. The BBC Brazil correspondent says South America's largest economy should in theory offer the Canadians the best commercial opportunities of the trip. But he says the visit has been partly overshadowed by a dispute between the two countries' leading aerospace companies. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
