The South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission is to seek a High Court ruling to determine whether it was right to grant political amnesty to 37 leading members of the African National Congress.
The move follows accusations by the opposition in South Africa that the Commission had shown bias towards members of the governing ANC.
Similar treatment had previously been denied to a number of police and military officials from the apartheid era.
