Strike halts Belgrade public transport

Striking transport workers demanding their unpaid wages have brought chaos to the Serbian capital, Belgrade.

More than eight-thousand bus and tram workers walked out yesterday, complaining that they had not been paid for December.

The protest has left many commuters stranded, and caused big traffic jams as many people turned to taxi companies or used their cars.
