Algerian press reports many deaths in attacks southeast of

Algiers The Algerian newspaper 'Le Matin' reported on Monday that at least 50 people were killed in an attack between Meftah and Larbaa, 30 km southeast of Algiers, on Sunday, Algerian radio said.

Another paper, `La Tribune', said a bomb exploded inside a mosque near Meftah.

Thirty people were killed and 100 wounded in an attack in Sidi Hamed following the blast, the paper said, according to the radio.

Members of parliament had "questioned the government about the massacres", the brief radio report said, quoting the press reports.
