Blast outside opposition supporter's home in Guyana

Police in Guyana say a homemade bomb has exploded outside the home of a businessman who is supporting protests against last month's elections won by Janet Jagan of the governing People's Progressive Party.

Maurice Glassgow, a supporter of the opposition People's National Congress, says he put out the flames which damaged his car, but no-one was hurt.

The People's National Congress has staged daily protests to demand new elections after the December fifteenth poll, which -- it says -- was rigged.
