Iraq bans weapons inspectors again

The Iraqi news agency says the government has decided to ban the latest American-led United Nations weapons inspections team from operating in the country.

The news agency said the team would not be allowed to function until the American team-leader, Scott Ritter, was removed.

The announcement was made after the team visited Iraqi government buildings near the headquarters of the UN Special Commission.

Iraq has repeatedly accused Mr Ritter of being a spy, something denied by America, and criticised the domination of Americans and Britons in the 16 member team.
