Arafat puts off visit

The Palestinian leader, Yasser Arafat, has postponed a visit to Jordan because of bad weather.The visit had been arranged in a telephone conversation with King Hussein following the visit to the region by the American special envoy, Dennis Ross.

Mr Arafat is now expected to go to Jordan on Tuesday.
