More would-be Kurdish migrants detained in Turkey

Police in Turkey say they've detained more foreigners whom they suspect of wanting to enter the European Union illegally.

The semi-official Anatolia news agency says more than one-hundred arrests were made in Istanbul and on the border with Greece.

The agency said those detained included seventy-three Iraqi Kurds.

Over the past weeks, Turkish security forces have detained thousands of would-be illegal migrants, who the authorities say are being attracted to western Europe by the promise of political asylum.
