Algeria and China sign a cooperation agreement

Algeria and China have signed an agreement for economic co-operation following talks in Algiers between the Chinese Foreign Minister, Qian Qichen, and his Algerian counterpart, Ahmed Attaf.

Mr Qichen, who's in Algeria for a three-day visit, repeated his country's support for Algeria in combating terrorism, and said that China was against of foreign interference in Algeria's internal affairs.

China helped Algeria build a nuclear plant in Ain Oussera, south of Algiers, in 1991.
