Leading French anti-abortionist arrested at Paris demonstration
Leading French anti-abortionist Dr Xavier Dor was arrested at a demonstration outside a Paris clinic on Saturday, together with 40 other demonstrators, France 2 TV teletext reported. It said that Dor, who is a retired paediatrician, was leading the demonstration when the police moved in. Dor was fined 60,000 francs (about 6000 pounds sterling) on Tuesday in connection with previous anti-abortion actions, the teletext recalled. He recently took refuge at the Papal Nuncio's residence in Paris, and said he would ask for political asylum, before leaving shortly afterwards and giving himself up to the French authorities.
