Further killings in Colombia

The authorities in Colombia say at least seven people have been killed by suspected rightwing paramilitaries in a number of attacks in the north of the country.

The attacks took place in the province of Antioquia, where the paramilitaries frequently target villagers they accuse of sympathising with Colombia's left-wing rebels.

In another incident, the authorities say two policemen, two civilians and a rebel were killed during a guerrilla attack on a police post in Magdalena province.

Elsewhere, leftist guerrillas shot dead a town mayor, and kidnapped another.
