Benazir vows to hit back

The Pakistani opposition leader, Benazir Bhutto, has said she will bring accusations of corruption against the Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif, and lodge some of the evidence with the Commissioner for Accountability.

She maded the announcement at a news conference in Islamabad at which she repeated that there was no evidence against her of wrongdoing, and that she was being subjected to the worst kind of trial by media, because of the accusations against her of corruption.

Since her government was dismissed more than a year ago, Miss Bhutto said, she had been subjected to mental, physical and financial pressure with the aim of foisting on Pakistan an undemocratic, one-family, one-party, undemocratic regime.
