Russia and Poland resolve border dispute
Russia and Poland have reportedly resolved their dispute over border restrictions imposed by Poland in December. The Russian news agency ITAR- TASS quotes a Russian foreign ministry official Artur Kuznetsov as saying Russian travellers, many of them shuttle traders, would now have to obtain Polish single or multi-entry visas. He added that Poland had agreed to speed up its procedures. The BBC's Central European analyst says the Polish regulations which had sparked demonstrations by Russians in the Kaliningrad enclave made it much harder for visitors from the former Soviet Union to cross the Polish border.
