Mongolia steps up 'Aids Awareness' campaigns

The Mongolian government says it's taking measures to prevent the spread of theHIV virus which can lead to Aids.

The alert follows news that a prostitute had tested HIV positive after sleeping with a foreigner, who was already known to be HIV positive.

The Health Ministry dismissed calls for all foreigners to undergo AIDS test before being allowed into Mongolia, but urged people to take their own precautions and announced a new Aids Awareness campaign.

Experts estimate the actual number of cases of HIV could be far higher than official figures.
