Britaish warning on Guyana visits

Britain has joined the United States in warning potential visitors to stay away from Guyana in South Americaunless their trip is essential.

The British High Commission in Georgetown described the situation after last month's elections as volatile.

Janet Jagan of the governing People's Progressive Party has already been sworn-in as president, but the opposition has mounted a legal challenge and its supporters have been involved in a number of demonstrations.

There's also been a series of bomb blasts; the opposition denies it carried them out.
